What is Janushirasana?

Method of doing Janushirasana –

  • First of all, sit straight on the floor in the position of Vajrasana.
  • Straighten both the legs in front. Spread lengthwise. Keeping it straight, mix them together.
  • Now keeping the left leg stretched, bend the right leg from the knee and place the right heel between the anus and the urinary passage.
  • The paw touches the left thigh root. Then raise both hands slowly and breathe in.
  • With the hands, move the neck, shoulders, head back according to the capacity. Now while exhaling slowly bend forward.
  • Try to hold the paw of the left foot with both hands or hold the fingers.
  • Keep the nose and head on the left knee. Keep in mind that the thigh, knee, and shin should not rise from the ground. Try to put the elbows on the ground and touch.
  • The right knee should also be kept on the ground. Eyes can be kept open or closed. Hold your breath for 20 to 25 seconds. Apply Brahma Kumbha. Then very slowly while raising both hands, come back to the status quo while inhaling.
  • Take two or four normal breaths. Repeat this action methodically with the other leg. This is a bicycle. You can do this 2 to 5 times according to your convenience. Do not try to practice this asana forcefully.

Benefits of Janushirasana –

Janusirsasana removes belly fat and thighs. The belly is also less. All diseases of the stomach are removed. Will get relief from constipation. It increases the digestive power. There is an increase in the flexibility in the spine, due to which the nervous system gets strengthened. All diseases of the kidney, urinary diseases, reproductive organs, prostate gland are cured.

Time to do Janushirasana –

It can be done several times according to the capacity alternately with both the legs and they can be done for 5 to 10 minutes after practice. Friends who are doing it for the first time, start it with 2-3 minutes and increase it to 5 to 10 minutes for full benefits only after practice.
